I've watched DBZ in Japanese and its good but i just cant stand not understanding what they say and having to read subtitles all the time. It's a full on action epic anime, i DONT want to have to read anything and miss out on the action. Plus the voice actors are a perfect cast, you cant ask for any people better. Funi dub is pure win Edited by Ryebrid, Apr 18 2011, 08:47 AM.

A big part of the emotional impact for me is Bruce Faulconer's music and my attachment to the way the characters sound. I get the dbz stereotypes from other people all the time, but largely I just ignore it. The show is special to me, so I don't care much for what they think about it unless they're looking to be introduced to it. |

The fate of his home, the Earth, and the very universe itself rested upon the child's shoulders. As the cold gaze of darkness began to swallow him up and his strength began to drain away...he heard his father's words. Nows. Your. Chance. So many times the hidden power of this quiet, gentle boy rose up and gave him the courage to defend what he loved. Now, he called upon it one final time, and found a strength that was far greater than any before. With it... Gohan saved the world. | |

I was telling my friend to watch dbz because he missed out as a kid but he declined and said his mum would probably think he is watching gay porn because of all the grunting and screaming. |

I despise Bruce Falcouner's music. Some of it is actually kinda cool just to listen to maybe(although I never would) or even for dbz games like legacy of Goku 3, but as far as the Dragon Ball Z series goes I think Bruce Falcouner's music is totally inappropriate. He needs to make like a falcon and fly off. I'm SO glad he didn't do any music for the dragon ball series because then it would really difficult to find good dragon ball clips on youtube, just like now it's really hard to find good dbz clips because they all have bruce falcouner's annoying music. The main reason I started-well actually the only reason I started watching dbz in japanese was because when I "got" the movies they only had dual audio(japanese or english with Bruce Falcouner music) and since I couldn't stand the American music I just watched the movies that I had in japanese so then I got used to it and just watched the remainder of the dbz series in japanese. I also like the lines/script in the japanese version more. Like in Bojack Unbound when Goku saves Gohan in the Funimation version Goku is just like "Gohan you have to show them your true power it's the only way" or something like that whereas in the japanese version it's just like "stop acting like a pampered baby you have to protect the earth"-in the American version it's just toned down for kids to live in a nice little world with easy going parents or something lol. In the japanese version you get a better idea of who Goku is and what his personality is like like in the Bojack movie instead of going "grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" when punching Bojack he says "you aint getting away with this". In the American version he always talks with perfect english which isn't how he should be. |

I've just got to say I disagree with this. I'm a huge DB/DBZ fan but I would rather not watch it then watch it with the Japanese music/voices. Funi Goku is the Goku I know and love, same for Vegeta and practically all of the other characters. The English dub kills absolutely nothing for me. But the Japanese voices do... |

Thank you, I get tired of hearing that the funi dub is crap and what not. It's amazing. The Japense though I only watched a few times is good too. But knowing what is going on fully is better then reading subtitles all day. Chris Sabth FTW!! |

Well I like both!I use to hate the japanese dub until I watch detective conan. At first I was watch case closed on youtube but then I learn that the american verison only went up to like 130 and so I started to watch the japanese verison. Let's say I got used to it. Then I started to watch some dbz in japanese. Now I like it. Edit: I still like the american verison better though because Goku and Vegeta sounds better there and plus I hate having to read the subs. I am a mixed bag, I enjoy the dub is ome cases while I enjoy the original version n others. Goku is way more of a dick in the japanese version compared to his Funi counterpart. Ironically, enough the dialog when he was using x50 Kaioken on Freeza souunded mroe hotblooded than the japanese version of it but it varies to some people. Say what you want about the dub, at least it kept the people in US busy and we didn't any complaints about how Goku sounds like a kid. Just what were they thinking when they did that? |

They just wanted to keep him the same as when he was a kid to show he hadn't really changed I guess. Maybe they wanted him to seem kinda soft. What do you mean by him being a dick? |

Goku did rub off on me the wrong way in the Japanese version and Kai. He seemed like a cocky individual who is just interested in fighting and eating. |
